Initial Screening

Alta Assistance Dogs will review your application and reach out for a brief introductory call.

Home Visit

We schedule a home visit to ensure a safe environment for our dogs and offer helpful setup tips to prepare your space for a dog.

Start Making a Difference

Once you’re approved, we’ll stay in close touch and match you with a dog as soon as we have one available and you’re ready. When you receive your dog, you’ll also attend an orientation to learn how to handle and care for your new furrry friend.

Start Your Journey

Alta Assistance Dogs welcomes volunteers from all walks of life. You can jump in by raising a puppy, offering short‑term boarding, hosting an adult trainee, or joining us in class to handle a dog during training sessions. In class‑only roles, we bring the dog to you so you can help with training and then head home with no full‑time commitment needed.
